Greece is on the Mediterranean
Allows them to travel by sea to a LOT of different places
Greece is very mountain-y
Causes problem with unification
Divisions into individual city-states instead of a unified country
Each individual city-state had their own cultures
Art, Philosophy, and many other things were developed by themselves with little input from the other city-states
Crete is southeast of Greece
The Aegean Sea is to the East, the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea are to the West
The Ionian Sea filters into the Mediterranean Sea
Sparta and Athens are far away from eachother
Sparta is more inland, Athens is on the water
Sparta is very isolated
Athens is surrounded by other city-states
